English App Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 11, 2026
This policy applies to the iOS English listening and speaking app published by Gangbo Dai: 牛马英语 (Simplified Chinese), 社畜英語 (Traditional Chinese and Japanese), and 사축영어 (Korean). It is a separate product from Sonelune’s online text-to-speech service.
No data collection
We do not collect personal data from this app. The app has no account system, advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not send learning activity to our servers. Lessons, illustrations and audio are included in the app and can be used offline.
Learning progress and recordings
Learning progress, review history, listening preferences and shadowing recordings are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to us. Your operating system may include this local data in device backups or transfers according to your Apple settings; we do not operate a cloud-sync service for this app.
You can delete shadowing recordings from Settings → Clear shadowing recordings (清除跟读录音). Removing the app removes its local app data from the device. Your Apple backup settings determine whether an earlier copy remains in a backup.
Microphone and speech recognition
Microphone permission is used to record your voice for shadowing practice. Speech recognition runs on your device, and your recordings and recognition results are not sent to our servers or a remote speech-recognition service. When on-device recognition is unavailable, recording and playback remain available without recognition. You can manage microphone and speech-recognition permissions in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Purchases, subscriptions, billing and restoration are handled by Apple through the App Store. The app uses StoreKit to check purchase entitlements and store an unlock state locally. We do not receive your Apple account credentials or payment details. Apple’s privacy policy and purchase terms apply to Apple’s processing of transactions.
Support and external links
If you email hi@sonelune.com, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send so that we can answer your request. This is separate from data collection inside the app. Please do not send passwords or payment-card details. Opening a website from the app is also separate from offline learning; that website’s privacy practices apply. Our general website privacy policy describes the Sonelune website and online service.
Changes and contact
